Event Description
|
Medtronic received information via literature regarding two patients with previously implanted freestyle bioprostheses. No unique device identifier numbers were provided.Patient 1: an 85-year-old presented with a freestyle valve bioprosthesis showing signs of progressive valvular degeneration due to prolapse of neo-left coronary cusp resulting in severe regurgitation. In a surgical intervention, a non-medtronic self-expandable valve was successfully placed inside the freestyle as valve-in-valve implant.Post-procedural assessment found no regurgitation and normal transvalvular gradients, but the patient did develop new bundle branch block. At one month follow-up the patient was doing well.No additional adverse patient effects or product performance issues were reported.
