It was reported that this unit was having power issues.It was found that the power inlet module had blistering on the fuse box and the power cord was charred.The event timing was not during surgery.No patient involvement or harm.During follow-up it was found that there was no exposed wiring, smoke, or harm to operator or patient.No further event information available at the time of this report.

This event has been recorded by zimmer biomet under (b)(4).This medwatch is being filed to relay additional information.Review of the most recent repair record determined that the unit had power issues, the power inlet module had blistering on the power cord was charred.The power inlet module was replaced and resolved the reported issue.Review of the device history record identified no deviations or anomalies during manufacturing related to the reported event.The root cause of the reported issue is attributed to the time the high flow valve is left open being too short during the pump start up sequence.The event is confirmed.If any further information is found which would change or alter any conclusions or information, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.Zimmer biomet will continue to monitor for trends.
