Event Description
It was reported that patient had their vns explanted very soon after it was implanted.The surgeon said that the patient was told by her primary card physician to restart her coumadin and continue lovenox post-op even though the surgeon told her to hold off for a week.She became supratherapeutic and had a significant bleed in both the neck and chest.She had an expanding hematoma in the neck causing her difficulty swallowing and breathing.He took her to the or and when he got in there the lead was just flopping around in a pool of blood in the wound.The surgeon stated the pressure of the hematoma had displaced it.He went ahead and took everything out as it was not safe to replace in that bloody field.No other relevant information has been received to date.
