It was reported that the catheter was difficult to remove.The 80% stenosed target lesion was located in a moderately calcified and mildly tortuous vessel.A 2.4mm jetstream xc atherectomy catheter was selected for the atherectomy procedure of the lower leg to treat peripheral vascular disease.During the procedure, it was noted that there was a density change on the fluoroscopy image and the catheter was not responding properly.The device was removed, and the catheter was found to be surrounded with tissue.The distal end of the catheter was bent and unusable.There was difficulty removing the catheter from the guidewire.The catheter was removed intact, though it was not salvageable.The procedure was completed using an alternate method, and there were no patient complications reported.
