Event Description
|
Medtronic received information that during the implant of this 24mm mitral mechanical valve, it was explanted and replaced with a mechanical valve of the same make and model.The reason for the replacement was reported as the valve leaflet on one side was inflexible.After properly adjusted the leaflet angle, there was still a phenomenon that it was inflexible. no additional adverse patient effects were reported.

Medtronic received additional information which stated that leaflet motion was tested with the blue actuator during the implant procedure.It was also reported that the valve was rotated within the annulus in an attempt to obtain appropriate leaflet motion.The valve was replaced with another valve of the same size.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
