This is filed to report air embolism requiring intervention.It was reported that a mitraclip procedure was performed to treat mixed mitral regurgitation (mr) grade 4.The steerable guide catheter (sgc) was inserted through the septum successfully.After about three minutes, air bubbles were visible below the sgc in the left atrium.Aspiration was performed which removed some of the air.The procedure then proceeded and was completed successfully, reducing mr to grade 2.There was no deterioration of the patient during the procedure and there was no device issue or malfunction of the sgc.In the physician's opinion, it is unknown how the air entered the patient's body.No additional information was provided.
