Event Description
|
Device report from synthes reports an event in japan as follows: it was reported that on (b)(6), 2023, the patient underwent an orif surgery for fracture of distal humerus with a va-dhp.During surgery, the tip of the drill bit broke and the broken fragment was left in the patient¿s body.The reason for the breakage of the drill bit was that the drill tip interfered with the 2.0 mm k-wire used in the reposition when the plate was placed, and the last screw was inserted.The drill bit was forcibly advanced as it was.There was a thirty-minute surgical delay.The surgery was completed successfully.The patient was reported as stable.This report involves one (1) unknown guide/compression/k-wires: trauma.This is report 1 of 2 for (b)(4).
