Event Description
It was reported that 2 weeks ago on (b)(6) 2023 the patient was walking along a trail that had high voltage power lines directly overhead for the length of the trail. As they were walking along the trail, the patient said something happened that made them feel like something wasn't operating correctly with their dbs system. The patient stated that both sides of their body and brain were affected very rapidly. At one point the patient thought they were pushing their rollator up a hill when they were actually going downhill. The patient added that they stopped being responsive to their wife's attempts to direct them. The patient stated that things were very hazy and foggy. After they got home and were away from the power lines, they checked the dbs device and found that it was turned on.The patient said everything with their dbs system seems to be operating correctly since the event. However, they mentioned that the implant depletes a little more quickly than it did before this event, so they recharge it every other day at the same time and it takes about an hour to charge to 100%.The patient added that the next day the implanted neurostimulator charge drops to 75% more rapidly than it used to.The patient thinks the high voltage power lines may have interacted with their dbs system.Agent reviewed compatibility information about high voltage power lines. The patient was redirected to their healthcare provider (hcp) to further address the issue.

Event Description
Additional information received from the manufacturer¿s representative (rep) reported impedances were checked and were within normal limits and charge was at 100%.A new wireless recharger was also delivered; the legacy recharger was staying with the patient for back-up use.
