Event Description

It was reported that the patient was able to turn therapy off for a heart procedure, but they can't reconnect to the implantable neu rostimulator (ins) to turn it on. electrocautery was used and defibrillation was used during the procedure as well.Patient just turned therapy off for the procedure, and no defibrillation group was programmed.Handset can find the communicator but it won't connect to the ins.Agent redirected patient to the physician and also redirected the physician to the national answering service to page a manufacturer representative (rep) to interrogate the implant. the caller confirmed the tablet will not connect with ins and it just keeps spinning. The tablet does connect to the demo percept without issue but not the patient's ins.Caller attempted to connect with another tablet but communication was unsuccessful.A reset command using the tablet was performed and upon reinterrogation, an "invalid group" message appeared. caller selected group a but then gave "telemetry failure" with code 0ceb4207.Agent reviewed the cardioversion has likely rendered the ins non-functional and it would need to be replaced.Agent reviewed returning the ins upon explant and if the patient is replaced with a percept, suggested programming cardioversion group at implant if further cardioversions may be necessary.
