Device evaluation: one device was returned for investigation.Visual inspection noted the device was received with scratches and nicks on both the enclosure and the front cover. The water tank had silicone on the inside and the outside on all four sides. The quick connect was corroded, had the old style power switch connected to the printed circuit board (pcb), faded line cord and a discolored pole clamp.Functional testing confirmed the complaint. When depressing the "over temp" button it did not alarm.Root cause was attributed to a faulty membrane switch.Switch failure was attributed to wear from usage.Replaced membrane switch, pcb, power switch cable, power switch retainer, quick connect fitting, water tank cover, and line cord.Performed preventative maintenance and calibrated.Device passed all functional testing after the completed repairs. The product's history records were reviewed and there were no non-conformances nor service-related issues that would have resulted in the reported complaint.
