It was reported that the overtemp alarm on the device was not working.Patient involvement is unknown.

Other text: h3.Device evaluated by manufacturer and h6.Evaluation codes: updated.One device was returned.Per visual inspection, the front cover had nicks and scratches, pole clamp discolored, line cord discolored, quick connect corroded, enclosure with nicks and scratches and very dirty.Per functional testing, the heater was very loud, and alarms did not go off for over temperature, add water, disposable.The light emitting diodes (led)s lit up but there were no alarms.The complaint was confirmed.The root cause was a faulty printed circuit board (pcb) speaker with no audible alarm sound.It was unknown what caused it to become faulty.The product's history records were reviewed and there were no non-conformances nor service-related issues that would have resulted in the reported complaint.No action taken due to the condition of the device.It was deemed beyond economical repair and was scrapped.
