Event Description
It was reported that the patient was referred for a prophylactic battery replacement due to a sudden increase in urinary incontinence which precede their seizures.The incontinence is thought to be a symptom of the seizures.It was suspected that the battery was nearing it's end of life and not working well.It was later reported that the patient had a major seizure and aspirated.They were sedated and hospitalized.The patient's physician later reported that the cause of the urinary incontinence is related to a seizures and pituitary hypofunction.The cause of the major seizure and aspiration is related to vns stimulation and battery depletion.The referral for a prophylactic battery replacement is to preclude serious injury.No known relevant surgical intervention has occurred to date.No other relevant information has been received to date.
