|
Medtronic received report that during an aneurysm embolization procedure two pipeline vantage stents opened prematurely.There were no patient symptoms or complications associated with this event.Additional information was received that the patient was undergoing surgery for treatment of a saccular 6mm aneurysm.It was noted the patient's vessel tortuosity was normal.The reported devices were prepared as indicated in the instructions for use (ifu).It was reported that stent fracture inside the microcatheter occurred during the deployment.The pushwire was only pulled back during the procedure.The procedure was completed with optimal result.
