It was reported that, this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) delivered six inappropriate shocks due to atrial arrythmia.The episode began with an atrial tachycardia.Then, the device charged but the rhythm broke, and the shock was diverted.The rhythm re initiated five seconds later and met redetection, the device charged and committed the shock due to prior divert, despite rhythm slowing.This pattern of short bursts with charge diverted followed by committed shock continues for a total of six shocks delivered and there were parts of acceleration.The technical services (ts) discussed programming options.This device remains in service.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
