Event Description
|
It was reported that review of a remote transmission showed that a lead integrity alert (lia) was previously triggered for high rate non-sustained episodes and sensing integrity counter (sic) the same day that shocks were delivered from the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd). It was suspected that the oversensing was due to electromagnetic interference (emi) and the shocks were inappropriate as a result.Review of a remote transmission over one year later showed that alerts were triggered on the right ventricular (rv) lead for episodes of oversensed lead noise and high undefined out of range (oor) pacing impedance, and a new lia was triggered for high rate non-sustained episodes and sic.Variation in rv pacing impedance and an alert for high rv thresholds were also noted, and a fracture of the low-voltage portion of the lead was suspected. The icd was later explanted and replaced when the rv lead was capped and replaced. No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
