It was reported that this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) was unable to be interrogated.The device has eroded through the skin of this patient.Boston scientific technical services (ts) was consulted and confirmed that erosion should not prevent the interrogation.The field representative stated that this patient is non compliant and a pocket revision has been performed twice.Further information was received that this device migrated in the pocket, therefore, starting to break through the skin and the patient developed a hematoma.The physician opted to extract the whole system.A semi permanent pacemaker was placed.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
