Event Description
|
Medtronic received information that during the implant of this 20mm aortic mechanical valve, it was explanted and replaced with another manufacturers device.The reason for the replacement was reported as the device was defective, as the leaflets of the valve failed to close completely.No adverse patient effects were reported.

Event Description

Medtronic received additional information which stated that leaflet motion was tested with the blue actuator during the implant procedure.It was stated that the valve was rotated within the annulus in an attempt to obtain appropriate leaflet motion.It was reported that there was no impingement of the valve leaflets.It was noted that the valve was replaced with a 20mm valve of another manufacturer.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
