It was reported that the patient with this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) experienced a ventricular arrhythmia.Upon review, it was noted that the quick convert feature did not break the rhythm.The device delivered an electric shock and successfully converted the episode.Boston scientific technical services (ts) was consulted and reprogramming options were discussed.Further information was received that this patient experienced a ventricular tachycardia (vt) episode.Upon review, ts noted that the anti-tachycardia pacing (atp) accelerated the vt into a faster vt episode.According to ts, the patient was going to receive additional therapy no matter the acceleration, so the next therapy was appropriate and successful.No adverse patient effects were reported.At this time, this device remains in service.
