Event Description
According to the reporter, during hemorrhoidectomy, the handpiece had partial seal after 5-10 times of good seals. activation and end tone were heard and there was regrasp alert.Vessel was fully transected and jaws were cleaned whenever there were scabs.The tissue being sealed when the issue occurred was 2-3mm thick.A new handpiece was used and it worked fine.Bleeding was observed directly from the seal but blood transfusion was not necessary.
