Livanova field service technician dispatched on site verified that there was no power to the pump.As troubleshooting, the hmf motor end stage board and hms motor control board were replaced. After install, pump powered up with no issue.Functional test passed positively and unit was returned to service.Complaints database review revealed that unit was manufactured in 2009 and no further similar issues were reported since its installation.Based on the above, it cannot be ruled out that the most likely root cause of the reported event was an electrical failure of the replaced boards.Failure of electronic boards can be related to multiple and not deterministic factors such as exposure to heat, dust and moisture, accidental impacts (drops and falls), and power overloads/surges but also to variability of micro subcomponents. However, there is no concerning trend for this kind of failure. The risk is in the acceptable region. No specific action was currently deemed necessary.Livanova will keep monitoring the market.
