|
It was reported that after the completion of a left transcarotid artery revascularization (tcar) procedure, the patient experienced dysphasia and hemiplegia.Imaging revealed an embolism in the m2 segment of middle cerebral artery (mca).A thromboembolectomy was performed to treat the event.The patient's symptoms have improved but have not made a complete recovery.At this time, it is unknown if the reported failure is related to procedural issues, patient resistance to medication, or a silk road medical device failure, hence, the event will be reported out of abundance of caution.
