Event Description
|
It was reported that the patient presented to the emergency department due to a work-up for sepsis and having a heart rate lower than the cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) programmed lower rate. it was noted that the clinician suspected abnormal device function. the device remains in use. no further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.

It was further reported that the sepsis was not related to the patient crt-d system, the source of the sepsis was healthcare-associated pneumonia (hcap), and the patient was treated with antibiotics.
