It was reported that the physician contacted boston scientific rhythmcare for recommendations regarding reprogramming this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators (crt-d).Upon data review, it was discussed that a recently recorded ventricular tachycardia (vt-1) episode was inappropriately declared, and was most likely an atrial arrhythmia in origin. However, this episode occurred beneath the programmed therapy zone, and thus no inappropriate therapy was delivered.Rhythmcare provided potential programming options, such as adjusting the rhythmid feature, or raising the vt therapy zone, if clinically appropriate.Additionally, the physician could elect not to alter the programmed settings, as this rate fell below the vt therapy zone.At this time, the crt-d remains implanted and in-service.No adverse patient effects were reported.
