¿this rn called into a patient¿s room because the patient was orthostatic and ot and another rn needed help to place patient back into bed.Patient stated he heard a ¿pop¿ and the other rn examined where the chest tube insertion was, to find it was disconnected.Patient¿s oxygen remained wnl and we placed patient into bed.Vss no respiratory distress was noted.Crn came down with dr.Champion, who assessed chest tube and stated he felt it was a manufacture problem because he said it should not of come apart where it did.Champion removed the chest tube, since it was already clamped first thing in the morning by the pulmonologist.Patient remained stable.Charge nurse office has chest tube in office to investigate.¿.
