Device 1 of 2.Reference mfr report: 1627487-2014-26035.It was reported that soon after implant the patient experienced a burning sensation near the implant site.The ipg would turn on full power and turn itself off and would stimulate the sciatic nerve and cause him to fall to the ground.The patient also experienced an increased recharge burden.The ipg was moved to another location on (b)(6) 2012 but this did not resolve the issues.The patient was explanted.On 08/01/2012 st.Jude medical, neuromodulation division, sent field action letters to patients related to heating while charging and raised awareness of this issue to patients.An increase in prior non-reported heating while charging events and other non-reported events was expected.
