It was reported to boston scientific corporation that a wallflex enteral colonic stent was implanted in the rectal sigmoid during a colonoscopy procedure performed on (b)(6), 2014.According to the complainant, this was to treat a lesion which was very tight due to colon cancer, with a 6cm extrinsic abscess.During the procedure, the physician deployed the stent without issues.However, upon removal of the delivery system, the delivery system caught in the stent and the stent was pulled out of the desired location.According to the physician, the stricture was very tight and he was not able to close the tip prior to the removal of the delivery system.The physician removed the stent from the patient.The procedure was completed with another wallflex enteral colonic stent.There were no patient complications reported as a result of this event.The patient's condition at the conclusion of the procedure was reported to be fine.
