Event Description
It was reported that the patient presented to the hospital with complaints of receiving shocks from their implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd) and chest pain.It was determined the icd provided inappropriate shocks due to ventricular tachycardia induced by atrial tachycardia (at)/ atrial fibrillation (af).The patient was admitted to the hospital for medical management and the device remains in use.The patient is enrolled in the improve sca (sudden cardiac arrest) clinical study.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
