Based on the available information, this event is deemed to be a serious injury.This complaint is not associated with a product malfunction.The complaint/incidence data-post market data analysis (trend analysis), clinical review, root cause analysis and risk assessment indicate a consistent rate of complaints as a result of skin complications which are caused by a variety of external factors not related to the design, materials, and/or processes of the product.No further actions are required, and this complaint will be closed.Product monitoring reviews will monitor for product trends if this issue were to reoccur.No additional patient/event details have been provided to date.Should additional information become available a follow-up report will be submitted.Reported to the fda on july 19, 2016 (b)(4).
 
Event Description
The end user reports a red and raw peristomal skin under the mass and tape collar that extends outward beyond this approximately 13mm.She does experience itching from this area.She has had this redness for years.She is not sure what product she was using when this area first developed.She has a red rash like area to her groin area and inner thighs.She has had the rash to her groin and inner thighs off and on for years.Her doctor prescribed diflucan.She saw a dermatologist in the past who administered kenalog injections which helped at the time but never completed resolved the issue.She recently saw her primary doctor who referred her to a wound clinic.The patient has scheduled an appointment with the wound clinic.No other information has been provided at this time.
