It was reported to boston scientific corporation that an expect pulmonary endobronchial ultrasound transbronchial aspiration needle was used at nodal station 7 during an endobronchial ultrasound procedure on (b)(6) 2016.According to the complainant, during the procedure, the distal end of the needle bent while the needle was extended and could not be passed in or out of the sheath.The device was removed from the patient and the procedure was successfully completed with another expect pulmonary needle.There were no patient complications as a result of this event.
