It was reported that during use of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb) procedure, the roller pump intermittently resets. As a result, the perfusionist moved the lines into a second sucker pump. The surgical procedure was completed successfully. There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.Per clinical review: during cpb, this roller pump being used for suction was intermittently re-setting (ie.Going thru boot-up cycle). The perfusionist elected to move the tubing over to another pump on the base.No other issues observed the remainder of the procedure. The case was completed successfully, without delay and without associated blood loss. There was no harm observed.

The reported complaint was confirmed.During laboratory analysis, the product surveillance technician (pst) found that tapping and flexing of the pump¿s power/driver board caused stopping and resetting of the pump. The product will be sent to service to be brought to manufacturers specifications before being returned to the customer. If additional information becomes available on this complaint that would alter the facts and/or conclusion, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.
