Event Description
Boston scientific received information that following implant of this system, a review of telemetry strips noted three seconds pauses in pacing which resulted in asystole for this patient.A boston scientific technical services consultant reviewed the electrograms and discussed the resemblance to crosstalk from the atrial paced events on the right ventricular (rv) channel. The consultant confirmed the signal is not being oversensed in most complexes. The boston scientific sales representative stated an x-ray and all lead measurements were stable and consistent with implant numbers. The physician kept the patient an extra night in the hospital for observation.System evaluation the following day showed the clinical observations were still occurring intermittently and the physician suspects it is due to the proximity of the rv coil to a valve.Reprogramming was performed and the patient was going to be seen again for defibrillation threshold testing (dft). No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
