Boston scientific received information that this cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) device was part of a system revision due to infection.Additional information received indicated that there was a small pericardial effusion which looked contained, thus, the physician did not have to open the patient for a bypass procedure.Antibiotics will be given for a couple of weeks prior to implanting a new system.There were no additional adverse patient effects reported.The device was explanted.
