It was reported that the asymptomatic patient presented for a normal pulse generator upgrade procedure.After removing and replacing the device, the right atrial lead exhibited a loss of atrial pacing and low impedance.The physician had difficulty inserting a stylet into the lead and experienced difficulty retracting the helix.The lead then dislodged and was removed and replaced.Upon removal, it was noted that the stylet had punctured the insulation of the lead and that there was a kink in the lead.The procedure was completed successfully and patient was stable following the procedure.
