No patient information provided as no patient was involved in this concern.A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.It was reported that the computer for the navigation system was replaced.The hardware, software, and instruments passed the system checkout.The system was found to be fully functional.The computer for the navigation system was returned to the manufacturer for evaluation.Testing found that there were 4001 bad sectors on the hard drive of the navigation system computer.The hardware investigation found that the reported event was related to a hardware issue.This issue was documented in a medtronic navigation hardware anomaly tracking database.The logs for the navigation system were evaluated by medtronic personnel.The evaluation found that the issue was related to the hardware of the system.The software investigation found that the reported event was unrelated to a software issue.The software functioned as designed.
 
Event Description
A site representative reported that, while outside of a procedure, a sr.Manager failure appeared on the cranial application software of the navigation system.It was reported that restarting the navigation system did not restore functionality.There was no patient present when this issue was identified.No additional information was provided.
