Boston scientific received information that during a normal device replacement, a code 1005 was recorded when the other manufacture's lead was hooked up to this new cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d).This error is indicative of a high shocking lead impedance, greater than 145 ohms. The lead to header connection was checked and there were no issues.Fluoroscopy revealed no issues.A 5 joule commanded shock was delivered, to rule out interference, and was unable to shock, due to a code 1005.The other manufacturer's device did not note any impedance issues, prior to the removal of the lead.It is believed that the lead was fractured, during the device change. The lead was capped and replaced. The exact cause of the issue remains unknown. No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
