The driver's patient data file was reviewed and revealed two emergency battery low alarms, which are generated once the emergency battery has depleted past a certain threshold.Investigation testing determined that the emergency battery's individual cells had been subjected to deep discharge. After approximately 48 hours of charging during the functional investigation, the emergency battery recovered and was found to be functional.Despite the observed functionality, the battery exhibited persistent emergency battery low alarms during functional testing. The likely cause of the depleted emergency battery was intermittent shore power from either the hospital cart or caddy. No other equipment was returned; therefore, no further investigation could be performed. This issue will continue to be monitored and trended as part of the customer experience process.Syncardia has completed its evaluation of this complaint and is closing this file.Ce 4586 follow-up report 1.
