Event Description
|
Patient has great saphenous vein (gsv) treated with venaseal.Procedure completed as per usual and was uneventful.The vein is reported to have closed.Post procedure, the patient called the physician and complained of pain along the treated vein segment.The patient subsequently developed a fever and was hospitalized and treated with medications for bacteremia.

Additional information: the patient was hospitalized for 11 days with a diagnosis of cellulitis of the thigh (vein accessed in lower leg near ankle) found to have bacteremia/sepsis.After medical treatment, sepsis and cellulitis have resolved and the patient is doing well.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
