Event Description
On (b)(6) 2019, patient in (b)(6) underwent procedure for placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy with jejunal (peg-j) tube.After an unspecified period of time, the patient experienced abdominal pain.Abdominal x ray was done and it indicated air in abdomen.On (b)(6) 2019, the patient required emergency surgery.There was gastric leak identified at the peg tube site with bile leaking into the abdominal cavity.During surgery, abdomen was cleansed and leak site was repaired.Patient was treated with antibiotics following emergency surgery.Patient was recovering well.After an unspecified period of time, patient developed hospital acquired pneumonia and was treated with intravenous antibiotics and oxygen while remaining in the hospital.Staples were removed.
