Event Description
Physician used hawkone directional atherectomy during procedure to treat severely calcified lesion in the sfa to popliteal.It was reported that during removal attempt physician had difficulty removing the device, the tip separated upon removal.The fractured device was surgically removed.No further patient injury was reported for this event.

Additional information: there were no issues using the device during the procedure.The tip detached inside the common femoral artery (cfa).The position of the cutter upon device withdrawal is unknown.There was no vessel damage.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
