It was reported that during a right shoulder rotator cuff tear, the surgeon experienced a ez pass kite fracture.There was no reported harm to the patient during this event.

This follow-up report is being submitted to relay additional information.Complaint sample was evaluated and the reported event was confirmed.Visual examination of the returned product identified that the kite is not broken.It is heavily damaged.The wire does move through the handle until it gets to the point.Device history record (dhr) was reviewed and no discrepancies were found.Root cause was unable to be determined.If any further information is found which would change or alter any conclusions or information, a supplemental will be filed accordingly.Zimmer biomet will continue to monitor for trends.
