It was reported to boston scientific corporation that a sensation medium oval flexible snare was used excise a 0.8 mm polyp in the colon during a colonoscopy procedure performed on (b)(6) 2020.According to the complainant, during the procedure and inside the patient, the snare would not retract smoothly and failed to cut through the target polyp.They had to open and close the snare several times to cut all the way through the polyp but still did not cut through well.Reportedly, the snare was not securely attached to the active cord and no visible issue was noted with the cautery pin.Additionally, there were no signs of blanching from the patient.The procedure was completed with another sensation snare.There were no patient complications reported as a result of this event.
