The rapid infuser was returned for investigation and was tested using our standard operating procedures.We were unable to confirm the report that the display went blank.An evaluation of the pc boards and cables in the system indicated that all connections were intact; the unit performed according to our specifications.The manufacturing records for this serial number were reviewed and no anomalies were identified during the manufacturing process.Without the ability to reproduce the reported problem, a root cause could not be determined.It was reported that there was no injury to the patient.A review of past complaints indicates that no trend has been identified for this type of issue.Belmont will continue to monitor and trend similar reports of this nature and take further action if required.Should additional information become available, a supplemental report will be provided.
