Event Description
Information was received from a health care professional (hcp) via a device manufacturer representative regarding a patient receiving morphine (15 mg/ml at 1 mg/day) via an implantable infusion pump.It was reported that the patient's pump was last filled in (b)(6) of 2019 and went empty in (b)(6) 2020 as they were dismissed from their last doctor and were unable to find another doctor to manage the pump. The patient had gone through withdrawals since (b)(6) 2020.The patient wanted the pump turned off and the alarm silenced as they could not find anyone to manage the pump. The representative was working with one of the doctors to see if they would be willing to turn the pump off for the patient. The issue was not considered resolved. No further complications were reported.
