Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider regarding a patient who was receiving morphine (unknown) (20 mg/ml at 6.344 mg/day) via an implantable pump for chronic low back pain and spinal pain.It was reported that the patient was discharged from their old managing healthcare provider (hcp) and the patient had not been able to find another hcp that would manage her pump. The pump alarm date was on (b)(6) 2020 and about two weeks ago the pump had been alarming. It was noted the patient went into withdrawal and now had heart complications. The patient was wanting assistance with having her pump shut off since she was unable to find an hcp to fill her.The hcp was not with the patient. The hcp was redirected to the national answering service (nas) to page a local rep to assist.

Event Description
Additional information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) indicated the patient¿s heart complications were an existing condition and unrelated to the medtronic device/therapy.The type of alarm from the device was not confirmed as no interrogation had been performed. The patient was given medication for the withdrawal and pain. The withdrawal had resolved with oral medications. The patient¿s weight was not available.
