Event Description
The freedom driver was not supporting a patient. The customer, a syncardia certified hospital, reported that the button on the right side of the battery well became stuck when testing the freedom driver.

Manufacturer Narrative
The driver passed all incoming testing and the customer-reported issue was confirmed during battery insertion testing.During testing, the right battery release button would stick when depressed to release the battery.Despite the battery button sticking, testing confirmed the onboard batteries could be successfully inserted, latched and released using the battery release button. The faulty release button was replaced and testing was repeated with passing results. The battery was able to be inserted and removed without difficulties. The battery release button is an element of the freedom driver components associated with battery connection. It is possible the battery release button was used beyond its lifecycle. The battery release button is not a tracked component, the button is replaced as needed. This issue will be monitored and trended as part of the customer experience process.Syncardia has completed its investigation and is closing this file.(b)(4).Follow-up report 1.
