Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative (rep) regarding a patient who was receiving morphine via implantable pump.It was reported that the hcp asked the rep if they could talk to the patient regarding a possible alarming pump. There were no known external factors per the patient. The rep spoke with the patient and they said the pump is alarming, which they believe to be every thirty minutes. The rep asked if it was more or less than the 30 minutes and they were unsure. The patient was directed to see their hcp to have the pump read and the patient said they would try to do that.It was unknown if the issue was resolved. The patient weight and medical history were asked but unknown. The patient was without injury at the time of the report.Additional information received from an hcp via a manufacturer representative indicated that the patient did come into the office to have the pump read. The pump was alarming due to low reservoir and when the office refilled it, they were not able to aspirate any drug from the pump. They did continue with the refill. It was noted that there was no volume discrepancy, but the patient had missed a refill appointment.
