Event Description

As reported in a research article, hemolysis, acute renal insufficiency, recurrent hemoglobinuria and anemia were noted following off-label closure of paravalvular leaks.A more comprehensive assessment could not be performed as the event was non-contemporaneously reported through a literature review and no device was received for analysis.Based on the information received, the cause of the reported incident could not be conclusively determined.This research was reported to have been conducted between january 2015 and december 2019.At this time, no amplatzer closure products were indicated for use for the closure of paravalvular leakage.
