Event Description
It was reported that the mobile programmer was unable to establish telemetry with the leadless implantable pulse generator (ipg) in a patient who also had a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd) and a left ventricular assist device (lvad). The user then switched to a legacy programmer and telemetry was intermittent finally losing telemetry during changing of programming with certain programming changes achieved. It was further noted that troubleshooting assistance was provided and telemetry was unable to be re-established despite the user taking recommended steps of attempting multiple angles, using a different radiofrequency head and shielding the battery pack of the lvad with lead apron. At this time the physician was satisfied to conclude with the programming changes which were able to be achieved prior to complete loss of telemetry. No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
