|
Medtronic received report that a patient who underwent a thrombectomy procedure with a react-71 catheter and a solitaire platinum stent retriever had embolism into distal territory in the cortical branches of the superior and inferior division observed in brain non-contrast ct which was clinically significant.The patient experienced hemiplegia.The event was noted to have a causal relationship to the procedure and a possible related with the patient disease under study.The event was not related to the solitaire or the react catheter.

Additional information received reported no additional or surgical intervention was required.Permanent hemiplegia was not reported.The event did not result in prolonged hospitalization.The embolism was in the cortical branches of superior and inferior division.The patient¿s baseline mrs, nihss, and tici? mrs: 0, nihss: 22 and tici: not at baseline, but final post-procedure modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction (mtici) score: 2a.

Additional information was received that the adverse event description was "embolism into distal territory".The patient experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage.Diagnostic procedure was performed; non-contrast computerized tomography (ncct) brain result clinically significant hemiplegia on (b)(6) 2022.The outcome was recovered/resolved on (b)(6) 2022.The site assessed aspossibly related to study procedure and disease under study, and not related to underlying condition or disease, solitaire, or catheter.
