Event Description
|
The initial reporter stated they received discrepant glucose results for one patient tested with accu-chek inform ii meter serial number (b)(4).A sample from the patient was tested using the meter, resulting in a glucose value of 432 mg/dl.Within 15 minutes of initial testing, the patient was tested with the meter two additional times, each time resulting in a value of 117 mg/dl.

The customer's meter and test strips were returned for investigation where they were tested using a retention battery and retention controls.Control ranges: level 1 = 30-60 mg/dl, level 2 = 261-353 mg/dl.Results: level 1: 44 mg/dl, 46 mg/dl, 44 mg/dl.Level 2: 305 mg/dl, 300 mg/dl, 303 mg/dl.All returned results are within the acceptable range.No information was provided that would point to a cause for the result discrepancy.Medwatch fields d9 and h3 have been updated.
